Course Content
Health & Safety and Clinical Environment
This section focuses on maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment. Learners will understand infection control procedures, cross-contamination prevention, PPE use, and safe waste disposal. Emphasis is placed on protecting both the client and practitioner during waxing treatments.
Anatomy & Hair Growth Cycle
Learners will study the structure of the skin and hair follicle, including the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. The hair growth cycle (anagen, catagen, telogen) is explained to support effective treatment planning and improve waxing results.
Products and Equipment
This section introduces strip wax, hot wax, and sugaring methods, along with professional equipment such as wax heaters, spatulas, and disposable materials. Learners will understand correct product selection, storage, and safe usage.
Waxing Techniques
Learners will develop knowledge of professional waxing techniques, including application and removal methods for different body areas. Emphasis is placed on correct direction, skin tension, and safe handling to achieve effective hair removal and minimise discomfort.
Consultation, Contraindications & Risk Management
Learners will understand how to carry out professional consultations, assess client suitability, identify contraindications, and obtain informed consent. This ensures treatments are safe and tailored to each client.
Complications Management and Aftercare
This section covers common skin reactions such as redness or irritation, how to manage them, and when to stop treatment or refer the client. Learners will also provide appropriate aftercare advice to maintain skin health and treatment results.
Entry Requirement
This course is suitable for beginners and individuals wishing to develop professional waxing skills. No previous beauty therapy qualification or waxing experience is required. Learners must be willing to follow professional hygiene, health and safety procedures. All essential foundation knowledge, including skin anatomy, consultation, contraindications and safe waxing practice, will be introduced and reinforced throughout the course.
Duration
This CPD course is delivered over 2 days with a total of 16 guided learning hours. The training includes both theoretical knowledge and supervised practical sessions.

The cost of the course is £280.00.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion, learners will receive a CPD certificate awarded by Divine Hair and Beauty Training Academy. The course is designed in line with CPD standards and reflects professional industry practice.
