Health & Safety
Learners will develop the knowledge and professional responsibility required to create safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments across further education and skills settings. Training covers safeguarding, equality, diversity, wellbeing, organisational policies, professional boundaries, legal responsibilities and the promotion of positive learning environments that support learner achievement and progression.
Teaching, Learning & Assessment
Learners will develop advanced teaching skills to design, plan, deliver and evaluate engaging learning experiences using a wide range of teaching, assessment and feedback strategies. Training focuses on curriculum sequencing, learner engagement, differentiated teaching, formative and summative assessment, reflective practice and supporting learners to achieve successful outcomes through evidence-based teaching approaches.
Digital Teaching & Curriculum Development
Training focuses on designing high-quality learning programmes that integrate curriculum planning, innovative pedagogy and effective digital teaching methods. Learners will develop the skills to create engaging online and blended learning experiences, evaluate digital technologies, apply interactive teaching strategies and use learning technologies to improve learner engagement, participation and achievement.
Professional Practice
Learners will develop the professional knowledge, behaviours and reflective practice expected of experienced teachers within the Further Education and Skills sector. Training includes professional standards, educational legislation, curriculum development, collaborative working, quality improvement, teaching observations, mentoring, placement practice and continuous professional development to support excellence in teaching and learning.

Assessment is carried out through a combination of:
Entry Requirement
Learners must be aged 19 or over and have achieved a minimum Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy and a minimum of Level 2 in English and Maths. Learners must also have access to a suitable teaching placement that enables them to complete the required placement and teaching practice hours.
Duration
This qualification consists of 360 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 1200 Total Qualification Time (TQT).
Costs
The cost of the course is £2800.00, plus a £250.00 registration fee.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all required assessments, placement requirements and portfolio evidence, learners will receive the VTCT Skills Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (Further Education and Skills).

Learners must attend all training sessions in professional attire appropriate to the training environment, consisting of a tunic (where applicable), black trousers and closed-toe shoes.
