Course Content

Anatomy and Physiology for Aesthetic Procedures

Learners will demonstrate advanced knowledge of facial anatomy, physiology and structures relevant to aesthetic injectable procedures.

Principles and Practice of Botulinum Toxin Use in Aesthetic Procedures

This unit covers product knowledge, treatment planning, administration techniques, patient safety and complication management relating to botulinum toxin procedures.

Principles and Practice of Dermal Filler Use in Aesthetic Procedures

Learners will demonstrate competence in dermal filler treatments, including facial assessment, injection techniques, risk management and patient care.

Principles and Professional Responsibilities of Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures

Training includes legal responsibilities, ethical practice, patient-centred care, professional standards and clinical governance.

Principles and Practice of Non-Surgical Cosmetic Patient Assessment

Learners will demonstrate advanced consultation skills, patient assessment, treatment planning and management of patient expectations.

Entry Requirement

Learners must be aged 19 years or over.

Applicants must be registered with a recognised professional healthcare statutory regulatory body and have no conditions attached to their professional practice.

Additionally, learners must evidence a relevant Level 6 qualification (degree level or equivalent).

Applicants must also provide:

  • Evidence of a minimum of 3 years clinical practice within the non-surgical cosmetic injectable industry
  • Verifiable evidence logs of at least 40 botulinum toxin cases and 40 dermal filler cases completed over the previous 3 years
  • A peer reference from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional
  • Proof of professional insurance covering the period during which the treatments were performed

Duration

This qualification includes approximately 162 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 550 Total Qualification Time (TQT).

Training schedules may vary depending on the chosen delivery programme.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is achieved through:

Learners must successfully complete all required assessment components to achieve the qualification.

KIT Required

Learners must attend in professional clinical uniform (tunic, trousers and closed shoes).

Learners are responsible for providing all treatment products required for practical training and assessment activities at their own expense.
