Health & Safety and Clinical Environment 

This section focuses on maintaining a safe, hygienic, and professional working environment. Learners will understand infection control, cross-contamination prevention, PPE use, and compliance with UK regulations.

Anatomy & Physiology 

Learners will study the structure and function of the natural nail, including nail growth, nail matrix, and nail bed. This knowledge supports safe application and prevention of damage during treatments.

Nail Conditions and Contraindications 

This section covers common nail diseases and disorders such as fungal infections, bacterial infections, and nail trauma. Learners will understand when treatments must be avoided or modified.

Tools, Equipment and Products 

Learners will gain knowledge of professional tools and products including acrylic systems, gel systems, and electric files, along with correct usage, maintenance, and hygiene practices.

Consultation and Preparation 

This section teaches how to perform effective client consultations, identify contraindications, assess nail condition, and plan suitable treatments based on client needs.

Nail Extension Techniques 

Learners will develop knowledge of nail preparation, tip application, nail forms, and full extension procedures using both acrylic and gel systems.

Maintenance and Removal 

This section includes infill techniques, rebalancing, and safe removal methods to maintain nail health and prevent damage.

Troubleshooting 

Learners will understand common issues such as lifting, cracking, air bubbles, and how to prevent and correct them.

Aftercare Advice 

This section focuses on providing clients with correct aftercare guidance to maintain results and protect natural nails.

Professional Practice and Legislation 

Learners will understand professional standards, client care, record keeping, and UK legislation including COSHH, RIDDOR, and Health & Safety requirements.

Entry Requirement 

This course is suitable for beginners, and no previous nail or beauty therapy experience is required. A general interest in nail treatments or beauty therapy is beneficial. All essential foundation knowledge, including nail anatomy, hygiene, consultation and safe working practices, will be introduced and reinforced throughout the course.

Duration 

This CPD course is delivered over 2 days with a total of 16 guided learning hours, including theory, demonstration, and supervised practical training.

Costs 

The cost of the course is £800.00.

Qualification Awarded 

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a CPD certificate awarded by Divine Hair and Beauty Training Academy.
This course is formally approved by The CPD Group, a recognised UK accreditation body, ensuring high standards in continuing professional development.

KIT Required 

Learners must attend in professional uniform (tunic, black trousers, closed shoes).
