Health & Safety

Learners will develop advanced knowledge of workplace health and safety by monitoring procedures that control work operations and ensuring compliance with legal and industry requirements. Training includes infection prevention, PPE, COSHH compliance, safe use of products and equipment, risk assessment, waste disposal, workplace monitoring, client protection and maintaining a safe, hygienic and professional salon environment.

Nail Anatomy & Enhancement Principles

Learners will study the anatomy and physiology of the nail unit, nail growth, skin structure and function, natural nail shapes and common nail conditions. They will also develop an understanding of UV gel, liquid and powder systems, product chemistry, sculpting methods, tip application and the scientific principles that influence safe and successful nail enhancement services.

Client Consultation & Treatment Planning

Learners will develop advanced consultation skills to assess client requirements, identify contra-indications, analyse nail and skin conditions, prepare individual treatment plans, obtain informed consent, maintain accurate client records and recommend the most appropriate nail enhancement techniques to achieve the desired results.

Practical Nail Enhancement Techniques

Practical training includes applying, maintaining, repairing and removing UV gel, liquid and powder nail enhancements using sculpting and tip application techniques. Learners will develop commercial skills in product selection, shaping, balancing, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, safe removal techniques and producing professional-quality nail enhancement services. Optional units provide opportunities to develop specialist skills in nail art, wraps, airbrushing, electric file techniques and promotional activities.

Treatment Aftercare & Professional Practice

Learners will provide professional aftercare advice, recommend suitable maintenance routines and home-care products, advise clients on protecting their nail enhancements and maintaining long-lasting results. They will also demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, accurate record keeping and safe working practices expected within a commercial salon environment.

Course Structure

This qualification consists of 3 mandatory units and 7 optional units. Learners must successfully complete all mandatory units and achieve a minimum of 24 credits from the optional units to achieve the full qualification.
