Course Content
Health & Safety
Learners will develop a thorough understanding of professional health and safety requirements, including infection prevention, PPE, COSHH compliance, electrical safety, safe handling of UV gel products, hygiene standards, waste disposal, cross-infection prevention and maintaining a clean, safe and professional salon environment throughout every service.
Nail Anatomy & UV Gel Principles
Learners will study the anatomy and physiology of the nail unit, nail growth, skin structure, nail shapes and conditions, contraindications and the science of UV gel systems. The course also covers UV gel chemistry, curing processes, product selection and the principles required to achieve durable, professional nail enhancements.
Client Consultation & Treatment Planning
Learners will develop consultation skills to assess client requirements, analyse nail and skin conditions, identify contra-indications, prepare individual treatment plans, recommend suitable UV gel techniques and products, obtain informed consent and maintain accurate client consultation records.
Practical UV Gel Nail Enhancement Techniques
Practical training includes preparing the natural nail, sculpting UV gel overlays, applying tips with UV gel overlays, adapting products to different nail shapes and conditions, curing and finishing enhancements, carrying out maintenance and repairs, safely removing UV gel enhancements and delivering professional salon-standard services.
Treatment Aftercare & Professional Practice
Learners will provide professional aftercare advice, recommend suitable home-care products, advise clients on maintenance schedules, explain safe removal procedures, manage accidental damage and demonstrate professional standards of communication, record keeping and ethical salon practice.
