Health & Safety

Learners will develop advanced knowledge of health and safety legislation, infection prevention, PPE, COSHH compliance, risk assessment, safe use of electrical equipment, safe handling of nail products, waste disposal and maintaining a clean, hygienic and professional salon environment. Emphasis is placed on monitoring health and safety procedures and maintaining industry best practice throughout all services.

Nail Anatomy & Enhancement Principles

Learners will study the anatomy and physiology of the skin and nails, nail growth, common nail conditions and disorders, contra-indications, product chemistry and the scientific principles of professional nail enhancement systems. The course also covers enhancement structures, maintenance procedures and techniques required to achieve durable, high-quality results.

Client Consultation & Treatment Planning

Learners will develop professional consultation skills to identify client requirements, analyse nail and skin conditions, recognise contra-indications, recommend appropriate treatments, obtain informed consent and maintain accurate consultation and treatment records while delivering excellent client care and communication.

Practical Nail Technology Techniques

Practical training includes applying and maintaining nail enhancements using professional systems, creating airbrush nail designs, using electric files safely, designing and applying nail art, repairing and removing enhancements, refining advanced finishing techniques and providing professional commercial nail services. Learners will also develop retail, promotional and business skills required within a modern salon environment.

Treatment Aftercare & Professional Practice

Learners will provide professional aftercare advice, recommend appropriate home-care products and maintenance routines, advise clients on protecting their nail enhancements and demonstrate professional standards of communication, teamwork, record keeping and customer care expected within the nail and beauty industry.
