Course Content
Health & Safety
Learners will develop a comprehensive understanding of professional health and safety requirements, including infection prevention, PPE, COSHH compliance, risk assessment, safe handling of professional nail products, electrical safety, waste disposal, environmental working practices and maintaining a safe, hygienic and professional salon environment throughout every treatment.
Nail Anatomy & Enhancement Principles
Learners will study the anatomy and physiology of the nail unit, nail growth, skin and nail conditions, natural nail shapes, contra-indications and contra-actions. They will also develop an understanding of nail enhancement systems, product chemistry, design principles and the techniques required to create durable, high-quality nail enhancements and advanced artistic finishes.
Client Consultation & Treatment Planning
Learners will develop advanced consultation skills to identify client objectives, analyse the condition of the nails and surrounding skin, recognise influencing factors, recommend suitable enhancement systems and artistic designs, obtain informed consent and maintain accurate consultation and treatment records throughout the client journey.
Practical Nail Enhancement & Advanced Nail Art Techniques
Practical training includes applying professional nail enhancements using UV gel or liquid and powder systems, creating freehand, embedded, 3D and airbrushed nail art designs, producing alternative nail shapes, refining enhancement structures, repairing and maintaining nail enhancements and achieving professional commercial and creative finishes suitable for a wide range of client requirements.
Treatment Aftercare & Professional Practice
Learners will provide professional aftercare advice, recommend suitable home-care products, advise clients on maintenance appointments and safe removal procedures, explain how to care for advanced nail art designs and demonstrate professional standards of client care, communication, record keeping and ethical salon practice.

There are no formal prerequisite qualifications required to undertake this course. However, learners should have a good standard of literacy and communication skills and an interest in developing advanced skills in professional nail enhancement and nail art techniques.
Duration
This qualification consists of 60 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 70 Total Qualification Time (TQT).

The cost of the course is £1999.00, plus a £150.00 registration fee.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of the mandatory unit, practical assessments, external examination and portfolio evidence, learners will receive the VTCT Skills Level 3 Award in Nail Enhancements and Advanced Hand and Nail Art Techniques.
