Course Content

  • Introduction to dermal fillers and non-surgical aesthetic treatments
  • Facial anatomy including skin, fat compartments, muscles, and vascular structures
  • Ageing process and its effect on facial volume and structure
  • Dermal filler products including hyaluronic acid properties and behaviour
  • Patient consultation, contraindications, and treatment planning
  • Clinical preparation, aseptic technique, and infection control
  • Injection procedures including depth, angle, and product placement
  • Foundation treatment areas including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lips, and perioral area
  • Complications awareness and emergency response

Health & Safety and Clinical Environment

This section focuses on maintaining a safe and compliant clinical environment in line with UK standards. Learners will understand infection prevention, aseptic technique, PPE use, and safe preparation of treatment areas. It also covers sharps handling, clinical waste management, and risk awareness to ensure safe working practice.

Facial Anatomy & Treatment Planning

Learners will develop an understanding of key facial structures including skin layers, fat compartments, muscles, and vascular pathways. This knowledge supports safe injection planning, identification of high-risk areas, and accurate treatment mapping. Emphasis is placed on how anatomy and ageing influence treatment decisions.

Dermal Filler Products and Properties

This section introduces dermal filler products with focus on hyaluronic acid fillers used in aesthetic practice. Learners will understand how fillers work, including volume restoration, hydration, and structural support. Basic concepts such as viscosity, elasticity, and product selection for different treatment areas are also covered.

Clinical Preparation and Injection Techniques

Learners will understand how to prepare for treatment safely, including patient positioning, skin preparation, and equipment setup. The course introduces foundation injection techniques such as linear threading, serial puncture, and fanning, with emphasis on correct depth, control, and safe product placement.

Foundation Treatment Areas

This course focuses on foundation-level areas including nasolabial folds, marionette lines, basic lip enhancement, and the perioral area. Learners will understand basic treatment approaches, anatomical considerations, and safe injection awareness for each area. Advanced procedures are not included in this course.

Consultation, Contraindications & Risk Management

Learners will develop skills in consultation, including medical history assessment, identification of contraindications, and treatment suitability. Emphasis is placed on informed consent, managing expectations, and working within professional scope to ensure safe decision-making.

Complications Management and Aftercare

This section covers recognition of common side effects and complications, including swelling, bruising, and vascular risk awareness. Learners will understand appropriate aftercare advice, follow-up procedures, and when to escalate concerns within their scope of practice.

 

Entry Requirement

A relevant Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in beauty therapy, aesthetics or a related field is recommended, providing a foundation in anatomy, consultation and client care. The course may also be suitable for medical professionals seeking to develop their knowledge and practical skills in aesthetic practice. Applicants without all of this prior knowledge may still be considered, as essential foundation principles will be introduced and reinforced throughout the programme.

Duration

This CPD course is delivered over 4 days with a total of 32 guided learning hours. The training includes both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The cost of the course is £980.00.

Qualification Awarded

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a CPD certificate awarded by Divine Hair and Beauty Training Academy.
