Health & Safety
Learners will develop a thorough understanding of professional salon health and safety requirements, including infection prevention, PPE, COSHH regulations, safe use of electrical equipment, hygiene procedures, client protection, safe handling of professional nail products, waste disposal, risk assessment and maintaining accurate client records throughout all nail enhancement services.
Anatomy & Nail Science
Learners will study the structure and function of the skin and nails, nail growth, common nail conditions and disorders, contra-indications, nail analysis, product chemistry and the scientific principles that influence the safe application, maintenance and removal of gel nail enhancement systems.
Client Consultation & Assessment
Learners will develop professional consultation skills to assess client suitability, identify treatment objectives, recognise contra-indications, analyse nail condition, recommend appropriate treatment plans, obtain informed consent and maintain accurate consultation and treatment records.
Practical Gel Nail Enhancement Techniques
Practical training includes manicure and pedicure treatments, natural nail preparation, application of gel nail enhancements, maintenance and infill procedures, safe removal techniques, nail shaping, finishing, professional nail art application, product control, treatment timing, troubleshooting and achieving consistent commercial-quality results.
Treatment Aftercare & Professional Practice
Learners will provide professional aftercare advice, recommend appropriate home-care products, advise clients on maintaining gel nail enhancements, explain treatment maintenance schedules, identify factors affecting treatment longevity and demonstrate professional standards of client care within a commercial salon environment.

This qualification consists of 239 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 290 Total Qualification Time (TQT).

The cost of the course is £800.00, plus a £250.00 registration fee.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all mandatory units, practical assessments, external examinations and portfolio evidence, learners will be awarded the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Gel Nail Enhancements.
