Course Content
The qualification will cover the following areas:
Principles, Practices and Ethical Considerations for Advanced Aesthetic Therapies
Learners will develop a thorough understanding of professional responsibilities, legal requirements, ethical practice, client safety and evidence-based approaches to advanced aesthetic treatments.
Consultative Techniques in Advanced Aesthetic Therapies
This unit focuses on advanced consultation skills, client assessment, treatment planning, informed consent procedures and management of client expectations.
Dermatological Science for Advanced Aesthetic Therapies
Learners will gain detailed knowledge of skin anatomy, physiology, dermatological conditions, skin ageing, wound healing and factors affecting treatment outcomes.
Advanced Chemical Skin Peeling Treatments
Training covers the theory and practical application of advanced chemical skin peels, including client suitability, treatment protocols, skin preparation, peel selection, treatment delivery, post-treatment care and complication management.
Entry Requirement
Learners must be aged 18 years or over.
Applicants must hold a recognised Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification (or equivalent) that includes Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology, or a recognised Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies.
It is also recommended that learners hold a Level 3 Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis qualification.
Duration
This qualification includes approximately 213 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and 298 Total Qualification Time (TQT).

KIT Required
Learners must attend in professional uniform (tunic, black trousers and closed shoes).
Learners are responsible for providing all treatment products required for practical training and assessment activities at their own expense.
Progression Opportunities
Successful learners may progress onto additional advanced aesthetic qualifications and specialist treatment programmes within the VTCT Skills (ITEC) aesthetics pathway.
The qualification also supports progression into higher-level non-surgical aesthetic training and advanced skin rejuvenation treatments.
